Yes. You cannot work as a public adjuster without a license. The Colorado insurance commissioner can deny, suspend, revoke, or otherwise penalize your license if you have been found to have acted unethically, incompetently, or irresponsibly.

You could lose your license if the state finds you crossed over into practicing law in your duties as a public adjuster. Speak with an attorney who can provide legal advice about next steps.

When you suspect bad faith by an insurance company, encourage your clients to consult a lawyer. They could then recover double benefits, damages, and attorney fees.
