Sometimes the road to legal action is paved with good intentions. This can be especially true when one decides to help another by agreeing to be the guarantor on a property lease.

A mother did just that for her son and two of his roommates. She put her name on a document naming herself as guarantor on a lease. However, her son and his roommates breached the lease and had $45,000 in unpaid rent. The leasing company went after the mother, so she turned to us.

We worked with the leasing company to negotiate a settlement of $19,000. Next, we communicated with our client’s son and his roommates to begin the repayment process to our client.
