If you pay someone to repair your vehicle, you should be able to expect quality work. Unfortunately, some mechanics will take advantage of customers so they can charge them even more money. That was the case for this client's son who took his car to a mechanic.
The mechanic claimed the car needed a new transmission and provided our client with an initial quote. After the work was completed, the mechanic claimed there was another problem with the car that would require double the initial quote to fix. Our client decided to get a second opinion, which is how he found out the transmission work was not completed. Still, the mechanic sent our client fake pictures trying to prove the work was done.
Our civil litigation attorneys successfully negotiated a judgment against the auto mechanic and business. The judgment awarded was five times the initial quote, and included treble damages for fraud as well as attorney fees.
