When tragedy strikes, it can hit so hard that a parent is unable to fulfill their parental responsibilities. However, once that person recovers, they should have the opportunity to parent again.
Our client fell into a depression after his partner and the mother of his child passed away. Following some legal troubles, the grieving father decided to allow the child to live with their grandparents. What was supposed to be a temporary arrangement turned into a legal fight to restore the father’s parental rights.
After the father completed countless hours of training and therapy, the grandparents refused to return the child to our client. Our Family Law Team successfully argued in court that our client should resume his role as the child’s sole parent.
