What is the difference between a handyman vs contractor?

Well, maybe nothing. But usually, generally, you think of a contractor as more of a general contractor. If you are building a new construction home, you’d have a general contractor overseeing a lot of other contractors that we would call subcontractors. Those would also be contractors. Usually a handyman comes in in the situation where, “I need to have some unlicensed work done,” or maybe, “I just need to paint a room or repair a piece of sheetrock”. Something that is less invasive that probably requires no permits to be pulled. It’s probably a less valuable type of work. A project that if we don’t have a contract or we don’t have insurance or permits it’s not such a problem.
